Enron Broadway
Enron on Broadway tickets are expected to sell like a Texas wildfire this spring 2010, so make sure you have yours in good time. Don’t let them beat you to it, because this latest real-life drama by Lucy Prebble is going to set tongues wagging. Enron is the story of the giant Texas energy company that bit the dust after years of behind-the-scenes cooking (to put it lightly) of the company books. If there’s one person who can make this heady drama seem like so much comedy, it is probably Prebble, and her musical is a roller-coaster that takes the audience laughing along with her.
As a backdrop to revelations about offshore accounts, financial deception and insider trading, you’ll be treated to a barrage of animal-human hybrids, tangential moments in history from the Enron Era, and intelligent exposes of the key players. This includes Kenneth Lay, Enron President Jeff Skilling, giant vermin and a trip back to Manhattan on 9/11 of 2001 – the same year that Enron itself came tumbling down.
